Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit environmental law organization. They wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to preserve the wild, to fight for healthy communities and to advance clean energy to promote a healthy climate.

This is a country of strong environmental laws and now more than ever we must use the power of the law to fight those who would harm our communities, our climate, and the natural world we value so deeply.

Earthjustice has spent the last 45 years fighting the toughest legal battles of our time and will not back down now. They will continue to uphold human rights and justice for all.

Recognizing that we are all in this fight together, the Sandler Foundation has offered to match any new or increased gift $1 for $1 up to $10,000. If you give before December 31 your gift will go twice as far.

"Our Earth, the water, the air, the wildlife and all of nature need stronger protection now more than ever. I have chosen Earthjustice because I believe in our responsibility to pass the gifts of the natural environment on to future generations. Earthjustice backs environmental groups in court, and they have been instrumental in many legal victories for our clean air, clean water and wildlife protection. I know that there a many more battles to be fought and won for our environment in the coming years and I want to help contribute to protect our right to a beautiful world."

Jennifer Orkin Lewis (also known as August Wren): I am an artist and illustrator based in a beautiful little village outside of New York City. I'm known for my daily sketchbook and the style I've developed while creating it. I paint a 30 minute painting a day and the looseness and intuitiveness of those paintings have become my signature. They are inspired by the everyday small things I see, from a bird, a teacup to a large crowd. I mostly paint with gouache and watercolor but I happily throw in some acrylic, ink, and pencil  into the mix.  I spent many years after graduating from RISD as a textile stylist designing prints for children's clothing and lingerie.
